National Practitioner Data Bank Problems

Medical Legal Consultation, Assistance, and/or Representation  with emphasis on the following matters:

 Inappropriate Reporting Issues

 Response to Notice of Report

 Appeal

Health care providers are reported to the National Practitioner Data Bank for all disciplinary actions by professional organizations, hospital medical staffs, and licensing boards, if the issues involve quality of care of patients. Medical malpractice settlements and verdicts are also reported. The information contained in this bank is nationwide.

The information sent to NPDB by the reporting facility is basically a reporting of "the fact that the occurrence happened. The NPDB does not usually go into the merits of the underlying action.

Remember, unless the healthcare provider can show that the information submitted to the NPDB is incorrect, there is usually very little that can be done about that report.
